Walt Disney Pictures

Designed and managed production network, storage, and security systems for virtual production for upcoming Lion King prequel. Migrated critical systems from Disney Motion Picture Productions (DMPP) to independent systems managed and run directly by the production.  Key technologies included secure remote access, “zero-trust” client access system, network and system monitoring, and disaster recovery planning.

21st Century Fox

Developed new production network and infrastructure for established virtual production company, migrating existing systems and solutions from a previous corporate enterprise managed network and third-party systems. Migration was done in two weeks with minimal interruptions to all systems and clients, as well as focusing on enhancing security, reliability, and manageability for the new environment.

Brud

Provided IT Management and end-user support for growing startup. Helped them to develop their first IT Budgets, roadmap, and changed IT from a support-based service to a planned revenue generating and cost-savings center for the organization. Successfully, migrated all 60 artists to be able to work remotely during COVID-19 pandemic in 3 days. Helped company transition from custom-built workstations and servers to industry standard platforms and rackmount hardware, including designing and building out their server room. Created plan for migration of all IT assets to a datacenter with virtualized 3D accelerated graphics workstations and clustered servers and storage.

Kimpton Hotels & Restaurants

Provided IT support and management for eight hotel properties and later assisted corporate office with larger projects. Responsible for all UNIX systems, network support and design, provided technical evaluations, and guidance in corporate meetings and responses to various project efforts. Created a metropolitan network between properties with secure VPN connections between all sites using dynamic routing for fault-tolerance and performance.  Developed company Intranet and Extranet including writing custom PHP and MySQL web-based applications for tracking of real-time and historical data.

Lightstorm Entertainment

Helped mature and develop information security program for an entertainment industry company with minimal budget and change in staffing levels using open-source technology and innovative ideas.  Provided automated vulnerability scanning, endpoint protection, security event monitoring and response using OpenVAS/Greenbone Security Assistant, Elastic Stack (Elastic Search, Logstash, Kibana), Palo Alto Next-Gen Firewalls, and Falcon CrowdStrike.

TransUnion

Perform security assessments for new vendors and responded to assessment requests from customers and data providers.  Migrated outsourced Backup and Recovery system to an internally provided backup architecture. Assisted with documenting and creating Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity Plans.  Rolled out and maintained SourceFire based Intrusion Detection System (IDS) and logs through LogLogic Appliances. Helped to evaluate and select next generation architecture including SAN, and NAS storages solutions, and redesign application high-availability and fail-over strategies.

Portland Public Schools

Contracted to establish standards and procedures for the operation, monitoring and maintenance of the existing UNIX Systems, in addition to helping with the roll out of the new Apple OS X servers and Oracle 10g Portal Project.
